Why We All Should Choose a Mantra

Life can be hard at times and we all have different ways to cope with stress and problems that arise, but what about the mind? Sometimes negative thoughts enter that can make us unhappy.  It can be something someone said to us that wasn’t very nice or it could be our own perception of the event that manifests into negativity.

A mantra is a Sanskrit word derived from two roots, man meaning mind; and tra meaning instrument or tool, is a sacred utterance, sound, or word, that is said to give power to the person who chants or recites it.  This results in a higher level of consciousness and shifts negativity into positive, food for the soul.

Mantras can also be positive affirmations you say to yourself for encouragement.

Is Yoga the Best Natural Vitamin?

“To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.”

For years I suffered with thin, brittle nails that would break and tear on a daily basis.  I tried many different multi-vitamins, which included biotin and hair, skin, and nail formulas.  Out of desperation I tried a supplement called horsetail (which by the way, made me extremely thirsty) and it didn’t work for me at all.

Next I battled with sleepless nights.  I tossed and turned in my bed and would always wake up in the middle of the night.  Going to bed early only made my symptoms worse and I became very frustrated.  I even remember trying a supplement called Valerian root….did not work for me either!  I remember an increased heart rate which made me extremely nervous and waking up feeling as if I was supercharged and not in a good way.  (No offense to Valerian users).
